Most years, discussions over Ireland's representation in the Eurovision centre on whether we make it out of our semi-final. Still the joint most successful country in the competition's 68-year history, we have qualified for the final just once in the last decade. But the question this year is whether we should even show up.
Israel's continued inclusion in this year's tournament is, to put it mildly, a hypocritical disgrace. Two years on from Russia's exclusion (which remains ongoing) for invading Ukraine, the European Broadcasting Union is ignoring similar calls to eject Israel for the war it is carrying out against the Palestinian people.
