After an inflight incident, Cathay Pacific conducted immediate inspections on all 48 A350 jets. They identified a significant issue requiring 15 jets to have engine components replaced.
Rolls Royce, the manufacturer, stated, 'As well as providing support and guidance to Cathay Pacific, we will keep other airlines that operate Trent XWB-97 engines fully informed of any relevant developments as appropriate.'
The Trent XWB-97, which powers the A350-1000, is critical for operations, as Rolls Royce emphasized that 'replacing the component can occur while the engine is still on the wing,' optimizing maintenance.
