In its latest quarterly report, Cloudflare revealed a staggering 21.3 million DDoS attacks blocked in 2024, marking a 53% increase from the previous year. Notably, the company prevented the largest DDoS attack to date, reaching 5.6 terabits per second. A significant insight was that many organizations weren't aware of who attacked them, but of those who did, 40% pointed fingers at competitors. State-sponsored groups and disgruntled users each accounted for 17% of the attacks, indicating a multifaceted threat landscape for businesses.
