The U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned Integrity Technology Group over its alleged connections to Flax Typhoon, a China-linked hacking group responsible for major cyber incidents.
The botnet operated by Integrity Technology Group was dismantled by the FBI and consisted of over 260,000 devices, used to conceal Flax Typhoon's activities.
Treasury officials stated that Flax Typhoon compromised multiple U.S. and European organizations, specifically naming a California entity affected by these cyber intrusions.
The new sanctions against Integrity Tech highlight the U.S. government's ongoing efforts to counter malicious cyber activities supported by foreign adversaries.
