Third member of LockBit ransomware gang has been arrested | TechCrunch
Briefly

U.S. prosecutors have charged Rostislav Panev, a 51-year-old dual Russian-Israeli national, for his pivotal role as a developer in the LockBit ransomware gang. Currently in Israeli custody, he faces extradition. This case is a continuation of the crackdown on LockBit, one of the most notorious ransomware operations, linked to an estimated $500 million in ransom payments across thousands of cyberattacks globally.
LockBit is considered one of the most prolific ransomware gangs in the world. Despite a major takedown operation that seized its infrastructure in February, it quickly reemerged, indicating the resilience of cybercriminal organizations. The group's leader, Dmitry Khoroshev, remains at large as authorities continue to pursue remaining members of this dangerous network. So far, three affiliates have been captured and indicted.
