Tenable: 26,500 Cyber Vulnerabilities Risk SE Asia's Banks
Briefly

More than 26,500 vulnerabilities exist in the external attack surfaces of Southeast Asia's 90 top banking and financial services organisations, with Singapore holding over 11,000 exploitable assets. Among these, 2,500 assets still relied on weak TLS 1.0 encryption, compromising vital data security significantly as this outdated protocol was disabled by Microsoft last year.
The cybersecurity firm Tenable stated that these 'cyber hygiene gaps' pose a potential risk to the integrity and security of financial data. Inconsistencies in URL encryption, misconfigured internal assets, and the usage of older APIs indicate a severe need for both immediate and long-term improvements in how these financial institutions manage security.
