Microsoft has issued security updates addressing 117 vulnerabilities, highlighting two actively exploited ones related to the Microsoft Management Console and Windows MSHTML Platform.
Among the 117 vulnerabilities, five are publicly disclosed zero-days, which include several elevation-of-privilege vulnerabilities and a range of other security concerns.
The MSHTML vulnerability has been particularly concerning, being widely targeted by ransomware and nation-state hacking groups, marking it as one of the most exploited in 2024.
The Microsoft Management Console vulnerability poses risks as attackers can use malicious MSC files to execute remote code on affected systems, hence needing immediate attention.
