CISA's executive director is leaving the agency
Briefly

Bridget Bean has announced her retirement as the executive director of CISA, confirmed by the agency. Previously serving as acting director since May, she highlighted CISA's commitment to managing risks to the nation's infrastructure. During her nearly three-year tenure, Bean was a key figure in organizational efficiency and aligned CISA's priorities with the Trump administration. Her departure comes amidst broader leadership changes and budget cuts, as the agency continues to adjust its workforce and strategies.
"Her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the Agency's operational effectiveness, implementing organizational efficiencies, and advancing key priorities aligned with President [Donald] Trump's initiatives," CISA spokesperson Marci McCarthy told Nextgov/FCW in a statement.
"I am honored to represent CISA's work supporting our mission to understand, manage and reduce risk to our nation's cyber and physical infrastructure," Bean told lawmakers in early May.
