Volt Typhoon, a Beijing-backed cyber espionage group, exploited a vulnerability in Versa Director (CVE-2024-39717) to plant credential-harvesting web shells in customer networks.
Researchers found that unpatched Versa Director systems are at significant risk, as the exploitation of this high-severity bug allows privilege escalation and cyber snooping.
