Dustin Childs of the Zero Day Initiative noted that Microsoft’s January update, addressing 161 vulnerabilities, is possibly the largest CVE count since 2017, indicating worrisome patch levels.
Tyler Reguly emphasized the importance for administrators to strategize their response, stating that fixing such a plethora of vulnerabilities cannot be a completely manual process and highlights the need for vendor trust.
Reguly also pointed out that with updates dropping for not only Microsoft's products but also Adobe's, patching should not be a solitary enterprise effort.
The presence of eight zero-days among the vulnerabilities, including three actively exploited, signals a critical need for robust security measures.
