The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) has unveiled its programming lineup for its 51st edition, set to run from May 15. Featured films include Darren Thornton's opening night film "Four Mothers" and A24's closing night film "Sorry, Baby." With a total of 245 films from 74 countries, including 83 features and 35 documentaries, the festival aims to prioritize new voices and bold artistic visions. Enthusiasts can attend in-person screenings across multiple venues, while select films will subsequently stream online. It is a significant cultural event in a time where art faces challenges.
At a time when the cultural cornerstones of discovery and diversity that make art so important are being threatened, SIFF is doubling down on bringing those stories to the screen.
A large majority of these films are currently without distribution, and may not return to theaters. Discovery and connection are at the very core of who we are.
