Masaaki Yuasa, renowned director of Inu-Oh and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, has announced the creation of his new studio, ame pippin, in partnership with prominent companies like Asmik Ace and Aniplex. After stepping back from Science Saru, where he produced notable works like Devilman Crybaby, Yuasa's return signifies a fresh direction in his career. He emphasizes the importance of adaptability in the ever-changing animation industry and expresses gratitude for future collaborative opportunities. In March of 2020, Yuasa stepped down from his role as president of Science Saru... to consider his next role.
He participated in a masterclass talk at the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival as well as directing the opening sequence for Spy x Family season 2.
During his tenure at Science Saru, Yuasa produced several of the studio's best known works, including Ping Pong The Animation and Devilman Crybaby.
