Director Timo Tjahjanto revealed his ambition to create a movie based on the 2007 video game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, which he had envisioned starring David Harbour and James Badge Dale. Despite drafting a short treatment several years ago, Tjahjanto lamented that the project never gained traction in Hollywood. This project followed a previous attempt in 2010, which had Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis attached to it but also fizzled out. The franchise originated in video games from IO Interactive and has yet to see a successful film adaptation.
