In returning to the horror franchise with '28 Years Later,' director Danny Boyle opted for the iPhone instead of traditional filming methods to evoke the same visceral experience as '28 Days Later.' Though he had a significant budget of $75 million, Boyle aimed to replicate the raw intensity of the original film, influenced by a recent screening that reignited his passion for the style that defined its predecessor. Cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle supported the decision, noting it was pivotal for pushing creative boundaries.
