Kiana Castillo transferred to USC as a business administration major but quickly felt dissatisfied with the focus on analytics over creativity. Approximately 60% of USC students change majors, and Castillo found herself longing for creative projects in marketing. After discovering public relations through TikTok, she considered switching majors but faced challenges with her advisor and family expectations. Despite feeling pressure as a first-generation student, Castillo's mother supported her decision to pursue writing and creativity instead of business.
