Seven players from San José State University's women's volleyball team have entered the transfer portal seeking a fresh start amid controversy over a transgender teammate.
An anonymous source revealed that the players are looking for a fresh restart in their athletic careers after the turmoil surrounding a teammate's transgender status.
The university stated, 'Student athletes have the ability to make decisions about their college athletic careers, and we have the utmost respect for that.'
Notably, the two key players in the controversy, a transgender team member and a teammate who filed a lawsuit, are graduating this year.
