The planned acquisition of Goddard College's campus has been canceled after the prospective buyers could not secure enough financing to complete the $3.2 million purchase.
Goddard College, which faced years of financial issues and dwindling enrollment, closed in April with only 220 students enrolled, a sharp drop from 2014.
The buyer, The Greatwood Project, fell short by $250,000 after an investor withdraw their support, prompting Goddard trustees to seek other interested buyers.
In contrast to Goddard's situation, Miles College successfully secured a new buyer for its campus after it closed due to similar financial difficulties.
