Idaho legislators accuse Boise State of flouting DEI ban
Briefly

During a recent House education committee meeting, Idaho lawmakers challenged Boise State University officials over a sociology certificate program focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), questioning its alignment with a state ban on DEI initiatives. The university president, Marlene Tromp, defended the program, asserting that it had not been rebranded but committed to reviewing the course after concerns were raised. This scrutiny follows a December resolution by the Idaho State Board of Education that prohibits DEI ideology initiatives in public higher education.
Tromp said the university had "absolutely not moved something under another name" but added that she'd have to investigate the certificate program more closely.
