Mott Community College has been cleared by the Higher Learning Commission of any accreditation violations following an anonymous complaint alleging improper hiring practices involving a trustee's daughter. The inquiry was initiated to assess the college’s compliance with conflict of interest policies and ethical conduct. Despite claims from former board attorney William Brickley regarding the need for disclosure before appointing Shaunda Richardson-Snell as permanent president, the college maintained that an investigation had found no conflict. Richardson-Snell expressed confidence in the school's compliance with standards, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to education.
The HLC's determination in this matter solidly reiterates that MCC's Board of Trustees, faculty and staff work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards in delivering education and training to our students.
I was highly confident throughout this process that Mott Community College was in full and complete compliance with HLC standards.
