
A doctor in his 50s was attacked multiple times while working a night shift at Hillingdon Hospital on Pield Heath Road in west London. The stabbing occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. Paramedics treated the injured medic before transferring him to a major trauma centre. Metropolitan Police officers, already at the hospital responding to a separate incident, arrested a man at the scene. The suspect, Mahdi Abdullahi, 27, of Pield Heath Road, Hillingdon, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon and stealing knives. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again in court on Friday. The hospital trust stated it continued to support and reassure staff and that violence and aggression were unacceptable.
