Tanya Hall began Wegovy aiming to test whether slimmer appearance would change professional treatment and felt more respected after losing weight. Early treatment caused insomnia, persistent nausea and headaches for her. GLP-1 weight-loss injections mimic a natural hormone that reduces hunger and have enabled many people to lose weight and change body shape and outlook. Long-term side effects are not yet well understood. Approximately 1.5 million people in the UK pay privately for the injections, making prolonged use expensive. Stopping the injections often restores intense hunger, complicating sustained weight maintenance without ongoing treatment.
