The Quiet Way RFK Jr. Could Curtail Vaccinations
Briefly

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has long influenced U.S. vaccination policy, with almost all of its recommendations being accepted by leadership. However, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known anti-vaccine advocate and possible next Secretary of Health and Human Services, stands poised to potentially alter ACIP's structure and function. Experts warn that his leadership could lead to diminished public trust in vaccination strategies, especially given the historical pushback from anti-vaccine movements against ACIP and accusations regarding its members' affiliations with the vaccine industry.
In almost every case, the nation's leaders have accepted in full the group's advice on who should get vaccines and when.
If he were out to do just that, one of the first things he'd do is 'get rid of or substantially change' the committee.
Over the years, the anti-vaccine movement has vehemently criticized ACIP's recommendations and accused its members of conflicts of interest.
Kennedy has said, 'The people who are on ACIP are not public-health advocates ... They work for the vaccine industry.'
