President Prabowo Subianto has launched an ambitious $28 million initiative aiming to address malnutrition among nearly 90 million children and pregnant women in Indonesia.
The Free Nutritious Meal program, part of a commitment made by Subianto during his campaign, targets 19.47 million schoolchildren and mothers, seeking to combat stunting and enhance food security.
Subianto stated, 'Too many of our brothers and sisters are below the poverty line,' underscoring his administration's awareness of the challenges faced by impoverished families.
With the goal to provide free lunches and milk to 83 million schoolchildren nationwide, the program is integral to Subianto's long-term vision for a 'Golden Indonesia' by 2045.
