GPs advise not to ignore scabies symptoms
Briefly

Prof Kamila Hawthorne, RCGP chairwoman, stated, "While incidences remained infrequent, the number of GP diagnoses was above the five-year average and rising..." This highlights a concerning trend in scabies cases.
NHS figures indicated 3,689 cases of scabies were diagnosed in hospitals in England over the past year, a significant increase from 2,128 the previous year.
Prof Hawthorne emphasized the importance of seeking treatment, noting, "We recognize that patients may be apprehensive to seek treatment given the social stigma that surrounds the condition..."
A student shared his experience, explaining, "One of my housemates came out to the house that she had scabies... so then I was like, 'Okay, so do I'."
