Celebrity weight-loss drug Ozempic could lead to birth defects, doctors warn

Women are being advised to always use contraception while on Ozempic injections, particularly stressing to stop the drug at least two months before trying to conceive to avoid any risks associated with pregnancy.

There are concerns that women are using the weight-loss drug to boost fertility, leading to unwanted pregnancies while on Ozempic injections, a GLP-1 hormone-mimicking drug initially for diabetes.
