The AI searched platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for low-cost inventory opportunities, producing a streamlined spreadsheet of potential resellable items. Despite the initial success, the AI encountered a problem when Facebook detected automated messaging activities, leading to a temporary suspension of the account. The experiment highlights the potential of AI in entrepreneurship, while also illustrating some limitations.
Sanchez noted that up until now, her artificial intelligence business partner was able to do a lot on its own, but when it was locked out of Facebook Marketplace, it required a bit of manual intervention.
"Finding stuff is cool," Sanchez said, "but can AI actually message the sellers?" The answer was "yes," with ChadGPT reaching out to the people who posted their items online all by itself.
