Thomas Trum: Pushing the Boundaries of Painting with Custom-Made Tools | stupidDOPE
Briefly

"The thing I like most about humans is how they constantly strive to improve efficiency in everything they do," Trum explains. Just as farmers invent tools to ease their labor, he noticed similar innovations in the art world, where artists have developed new methods to simplify or expedite their work.
By 2014, Trum shifted his focus to monochrome paintings, concentrating solely on shapes and lines. Using his custom-made machines, Trum applies paint in arcs, gradients, and fields of color with an impressive level of precision.
These machines, many of which he designed himself, range from modified hand-held sprayers to motorized mechanisms capable of creating perfect curves on sprawling canvases and walls. Remarkably, Trum completes his works in a single attempt-there's no room for error.
Trum's latest collaboration, The Art of Dreams with Porsche, saw his vibrant geometric motifs transferred onto boat sails, a pool, and a large series of canvases, further showcasing his innovative approach to painting.
