This Dreamworks-inspired character was made in ZBrush and Maya - and the artist added some beautiful touches
Briefly

Shuhang Li, a 3D artist from Chengdu, China, created 'Plant Pterosaur' influenced by the animated film 'How to Train Your Dragon'. He utilized various software including ZBrush for modeling and Maya to design the forest environment. For the visual effects, Li employed Arnold for realistic skin textures and self-luminous shaders for the wings. He concentrated on color variation during texture painting and utilized HDRI for compositing in Lightroom. This blend of tools and techniques highlights his pursuit of realism in 3D art.
I wanted to make it more realistic, so I simulated a real forest environment in Maya, and for the dragon's wings I used self-luminous shaders to match.
For the texture painting, I focused more on emphasising colour variation. There are rich colour changes in the whole green tone, and finally you can unify the colour tone through an HDRI.
