However, the logo design faced plagiarism accusations when similarities to a fan's concept were noted. The fan, who posted three logo ideas, insisted that the club's design was too similar. It was later clarified that the fan's designs were inspired by earlier concepts released by the team. Ultimately, the controversy highlighted the challenges of originality and perception in logo design.
"The official logo is way too similar to these concepts. This person needs to be compensated!" One X user commented, while articles popped up sharing accusations of plagiarism.
As the accusations blew up, the artist did step in to explain. "I've deleted this post because there was a pretty gnarly misunderstanding going on. My logo was a revision of the test logos that Utah used for the early voting."
