Cansick's work explores the darker side of nature, instigated by collecting reportage images and personal experiences, particularly a tornado encounter that shaped her artistic journey.
In 2022, Cansick dedicated a year to painting reportage images, discarding the source material to let instinct and paint dictate the outcome of her art.
Using a limited palette of four colors across 46 works, Cansick focuses on brushwork and color interaction, allowing intuition to guide her creative process.
Her work serves as a reaction to nature's ferocity, transforming gathered images of disasters into a contemplative examination of beauty and chaos.
