Despite a lingering thumb injury, Steph Curry insists it was not the cause of his poor shooting performance in the Warriors' loss against the Lakers. Finishing with just 13 points, he went 0-for-8 in the second half, tying the worst shooting half of his career. Curry acknowledged crediting the Lakers' defense, noting he needed to improve for the team to win. While managing the thumb pain and knee issues, he emphasized that his performance should not be affected by injury and continues to work through it diligently.
"It sucks but it's not an excuse for anything," Curry said. "You gotta play through it. I went 8-for-8 with it (against Philadelphia)."
"I just got to play better," Curry said postgame. "I had a couple of good looks, but they were trying to funnel us into a crowd, use their length, their size."
