During the NBA All-Star Saturday, Tyler Herro clinched the 3-Point Contest title with 24 points, narrowly defeating Buddy Hield, who fell just short with 23 points. Damian Lillard, the two-time champion, did not progress past the first round. The event was less thrilling than in previous years, as superstar Steph Curry did not participate. Herro celebrated his victory and commented on the significance of joining earlier champions in the competition's history. Draymond Green and Moses Moody represented the Warriors in the Skills Challenge but were eliminated early.
At least Hield gave the hometown crowd something to cheer about Saturday night.
I feel like a lot of great shooters, a lot of great players, some of the greats to play this game have won this competition, Herro said.
