Sources: Draymond Green involved in Warriors' trade talks
"I've been here for 14 years,"
"I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I'm traded, that's part of the business. I ain't losing no sleep though. I slept great last night."
"I think what's really tricky for Draymond is this is the only place he's ever known,"
"He's going to have a statue outside the building someday...He's never been through this and it's definitely been on his mind."
The Golden State Warriors have involved Draymond Green in active trade conversations ahead of Thursday's deadline, putting his 14-season run with the franchise at risk. General manager Mike Dunleavy and controlling owner Joe Lacob remain motivated to complete a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Green's name has been included in proposed offers to the Milwaukee Bucks. To match salaries the Warriors would need to include either injured Jimmy Butler III or Green. Butler's large, injured contract reduces his appeal, while Green's smaller, active contract makes him more attractive to the Bucks and other teams. Coach Steve Kerr and Steph Curry prefer Green retire a Warrior, but Lacob and Dunleavy control roster decisions and have made Green more available than before.
