Draymond Green was assessed a technical foul following a heated exchange with veteran referee J.T. Orr during the Warriors-Pistons game. Green accused Orr of putting a hand in his face and framed the penalty as ironic and racially charged, stating as a Black man he did not want a White referee placing a hand near his face. Broadcast footage of the incident does not show the referee raising his hand toward Green during the argument. The confrontation followed a disputed second-quarter play in which Green said he was grabbed, and follows a history of prior on-court incidents by Green.
