The anticipated rematch between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu at the NBA All-Star Weekend will not take place this year in San Francisco. Despite ongoing discussions about including a 2-on-2 format featuring additional players, including Klay Thompson and Caitlin Clark, no agreement was reached. NBA spokesperson Mike Bass noted that they could not create a plan that would elevate last year’s event. Instead, the focus will shift to the new format of All-Star Sunday. Curry expressed his desire for the rematch after last year's successful competition, which raised funds for their charitable foundations.
"We weren't able to land on a plan we thought would raise the bar off of last year's special moment. We all agreed not to proceed and will instead keep the focus on All-Star Sunday's new format."
"We've been talking about finding different ways to change this up next year. I think he has a partner in mind that's going to join him. So I'm open to any partner that could help me win..."
