Last year, Germany spent almost 34 billion on development aid, being the fourth largest spender globally, only behind Norway, Luxembourg, and Sweden, while also leading the G7.
Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, stated, 'We achieve this through development cooperation,' emphasizing Germany's reliance on strong international partnerships.
Schulze described the German development cooperation guidelines as essential for fighting poverty and strengthening democracy, noting their importance for both the recipient countries and Germany.
Despite calls to cut development aid by 940 million next year, Schulze remains confident, asserting, 'No, I'm not worried it will get run over,' indicating her commitment to the cause.
