On May 22, the Danish parliament passed a significant reform raising the retirement age to 70 for citizens born after December 31, 1970, with gradual increases leading up to that age. Currently set at 67, the age will transition to 68 by 2030 and 69 by 2035. Discussions on pension systems reflect varying approaches in Europe, particularly with Germany exploring its own pension challenges. Bernd Raffelhuschen suggested that other nations should adopt similar reforms to manage the increasing retiree demographic, especially the baby boomer generation.
In some countries, people continue to work even longer than they are legally required to.
