"Scholz has offered, that we reach a concrete understanding with the Union on which important projects we can still bring forward together in the Bundestag like child allowance payments, statutory nursing care insurance and the Deutschlandticket," Miersch said.
"No. The [coalition] is broken. The confidence is gone," he said, underscoring the CDU's unwillingness to support the policies of Scholz's minority government.
Alexander Dobrindt described the situation as a game, stating, "Here the suspicion is immediately raised that he [Scholz] is again trying to play games."
Miersch added, "Once this constructive cooperation is assured, we can gladly speak about the timing of the confidence question and early elections."
