A survey by INSA for Bild am Sonntag found 69% of respondents expect an AfD premier in at least one of three states holding elections in autumn. Of those, 28% expect AfD leadership in several states. Only 16% believe the AfD will fail to take power in any state, while 15% are undecided. If the AfD does not win an absolute majority, 40% want a state government formed by CDU and the Left Party, versus 36% favoring CDU–AfD cooperation. Among conservative voters, 48% prefer CDU cooperation with the Left Party.
