Woman accused of stealing Ukrainian soldiers' mobile numbers, court hears
Briefly

Katrin Ivanova, a 33-year-old lab technician, is on trial for her alleged involvement in a Bulgarian spy ring seeking to steal the mobile numbers of Ukrainian soldiers training in Germany. Prosecutor Alison Morgan claims Ivanova was the most skilled member of the group and essential for operating a sophisticated IMSI catcher device used for surveillance. Although messages suggest her involvement, Ivanova denies knowledge of or training to use the device, arguing that she was not the individual referred to in discussions about collecting phone numbers for espionage in Stuttgart.
You were the one who had the brains and ability, Morgan said, as she cross-examined Ivanova for a full day at an espionage trial in the central criminal court.
The prosecutor said Ivanova was the chief minion being referred to but in reply she denied being able to operate the surveillance device.
They refer many times to minions, not only to me, she said, and denied being the person referred to.
