A car driven by a 33-year-old man crashed into pedestrians in Leipzig, killing a 63-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man. The incident occurred around 4.45pm on May 4th, with the vehicle traveling at an estimated speed of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour. At least three others were seriously injured, and around 80 people were affected. The driver, known to police but not for similar offenses, surrendered without resistance and was reported to be in a state of mental distress during his arrest.
