Freiham is Munich’s newest urban expansion and the largest new development area in Europe. The district is planned to accommodate around 25,000 people over an area of 350 hectares. The land remains in the city’s possession, enabling the city to grant plots in sections. Plots are provided to municipal developers, cooperatives, and building associations. The grants are made under hereditary building rights, supporting long-term development and collective housing structures within the district.
