In Scotland, I found friendly interactions everywhere—from shop assistants to baristas, people showed a willingness to engage in casual conversation, something I had grown unaccustomed to in Berlin.
I was amazed at how easy it was to strike up a chat with strangers. In Aberdeen, smiles and light banter felt like a refreshing experience after years in a more reserved culture.
