MAN bus sales decreased 8% in Q1 2025 while incoming truck and bus orders increase 50% - Sustainable Bus
Briefly

In Q1 2025, MAN Truck & Bus reported a 14% decline in units sold compared to the previous year, with bus sales down 8%. However, incoming orders surged 50% year-on-year, driven by electric city buses, even as overall vehicle sales fell. The group's revenue decreased by 12% to 3.1 billion euros, and operating results dropped by 3.3% due to lower sales and higher costs. As part of addressing the demand for electric vehicles, MAN is investing 250 million euros in battery production in Nuremberg.
In the first quarter, we very clearly felt the effects of weak customer demand on our sales and earnings. In order to further improve our resilience, we must and will work on strategic enhancements.
The 380 buses and trucks sold in the first three months represent an increase of 178% compared to the first quarter of 2024, driven primarily by the continued strong demand for electric city buses.
