Police raided over 20 properties in southwestern Germany, arresting four and investigating a human trafficking ring smuggling Caucasian migrants for illegal labor at under minimum wage.
The investigation into the trafficking ring began in January after a migrant was found working illegally while attempting to leave Germany, drawing attention from authorities.
In total, 400 officers participated in the early morning raids across cities including Mannheim, Karlsruhe, and Worms, searching for evidence of human trafficking operations.
Federal police indicated that the case involves a larger group of migrants, as investigations revealed multiple instances of illegal work linked to forged EU ID cards.
