The museum houses more than 100,000 objects from ancient Egypt spanning the Pharaonic, Greek and Roman periods. The collection features Tutankhamun’s burial equipment and his golden death mask displayed together as a complete set for the first time. President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi invited international delegates to the inauguration in Giza. Steinmeier will hold bilateral talks in Cairo with el-Sisi and other visiting leaders to discuss the state of the ceasefire in Gaza. Steinmeier will then continue his Africa tour to Ghana and Angola, becoming the first German head of state to visit Angola.
