In Germany, about 30% of people aged 18 to 69 are single, with slightly more men than women. Internationals often find dating difficult due to cultural differences in flirting. Many expats report that Germans tend to be reserved and less direct in romantic interactions. This results in challenges like unclear signals and a lack of obvious flirting, as people often wait for the other to make the first move, leading to missed connections and a perception that dating is more transactional.
At least in München everyone waits - men and woman - for the other one to make the first move, which results in no contact whatsoever. Flirting is non-existent.
I’d say people do not flirt in an obvious way here, so you will never know if that guy you’ve been talking to is into you or not.
