German police have released new evidence related to the Red Army Faction, identifying Burkhard Garweg as a suspect through recently uncovered video footage and photos.
The evidence was uncovered after the arrest of former RAF member Daniela Klette and indicates a significant breakthrough in tracking down offenders of 1970s and 80s terrorism.
Garweg, now 56, appears in a 2020 video wishing someone well for an exam, a clue for detectives who believe he remains within Germany.
The new investigation tied to the RAF aims to hold accountable those who carried out serious crimes and damages totaling approximately $3 million.
