Fire service spokesman Michael Klahre highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating, "We're running out of time here. We are really fighting against the clock here,".
According to Simone Prufer, head of Dresden's Road and Civil Engineering Department, the Elbe river is expected to reach 4 meters by week's end, escalating flood risks.
