Older and lower-income respondents were most likely to say they were unsure about the benefits of 5G. The results track with adoption rates, as well. People between the ages of 18 and 24 were the most likely to report using 5G fixed wireless in a May 2025 study from Horowitz Research."
YouGov tracked sentiment using a rolling survey between November 2024 and November 2025. More Americans than ever say 5G improves their digital experiences. Agreement rates by age were 67% for ages 18–44, 61% for ages 45–64, and 49% for those 65 and older. Income differences showed 69% benefit for respondents earning at least 200% of the median income, 65% for average income, and 59% for lower incomes. About 25% of respondents were unsure whether they benefited from 5G, with uncertainty highest among older and lower-income groups. 4G LTE remains the backbone of connectivity, reaching 67.56% of areas versus the fastest 5G at 35.62%.
